    Lewiston’s Marble Orchard

Costumed, theatrical guides bring Lewiston's past to life.  Meet famous (and infamous) citizens in the Village Cemetery, including a conductor on the Underground Railroad, the woman who invented the "cocktail," a gypsy, and many more. Step back in time and learn local lore, tombstone symbols, and graveyard etiquette.

     Park Place Preservation

Built between the 1850s and 1930s, the Park Place Historic District is a hidden gem of Niagara Falls. See interiors of the First Unitarian Universalist Church and James G. Marshall House, both on the National Register of Historic Places.

     Tona-Wander

Tour the Tonawanda Castle, go inside a pioneer home from 1829, check out several homes on Clinton Street, and visit an original passenger station for the New York Central Railroad.

     Village of Kenmore

One of the “Top 10 Great Neighborhoods in the US,” Buffalo’s first suburb is known for its architecture, walkability, and community pride.  As the Village Historian guides you, visit inside the E. B. Green-designed Municipal Building, and hear unique stories from Kenmore's past.

     Williamsville Ramble

At the falls of Ellicott Creek, this Village hosts an 1811 mill, a former stagecoach stop on the Buffalo–Batavia road, and a fine collection of Greek Revival structures.

     Buffalo’s Bungalows

With cozy hearths, sturdy oak moldings, and soft, natural colors, bungalows embodied the romanticized ideal of the American home. Explore a charming street lined entirely with well-crafted bungalow houses in a century-old “model community” built on the site of the Pan-Am Exposition.

     Humboldt Parade

Few neighborhoods have the pedigree of Buffalo’s old “Parade” grounds, lined with beautiful period homes and a 200 foot-wide green space linking the East Side to Delaware Park.  Promenade along the “Parade” route and discover its historic pride and grandeur, where a new middle class found the American Dream.

     Porter Avenue

Part of the Olmsted-Vaux parkway system, Porter boasts Kleinhans Music Hall, First Presbyterian Church, and fine examples of Stick Style and Queen Anne Homes.

     Massachusetts Makeover

The TV show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition may have left town, but citizens and volunteers keep revitalizing this West Side neighborhood.  One year later, hear the proud tale of how run-down and vacant properties are turning into well-cared for homes, one block at a time.

     The West Village

Explore the neighborhood pioneered by Buffalo’s first mayor, Ebenezer Johnson, in 1824. See fine red brick architecture, the city’s first public park, an eccentric hidden theater, and early mansions.
