While the 2010 Preservation Awards have been presented, Preservation Buffalo Niagara will accept nominations for 2011 based on the 2010 criteria worksheet and the 2010 awards nomination form. Should the application form change, PBN may request additional information but will not require that submitted material be re-written.

Preservation League 2010 Awards
On May 12th, 340 people attended Preservation Buffalo Niagara's Second Annual Awards Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Buffalo. The featured speaker was Carol Ash, Commissioner of New York Stat Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; she is also the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO); the emcee was Terry Robinson, PBN Trustee. Event Co-chairs were Joseph Eicheldinger, with Key Bank (Event Sponsor) and Maura Cohen, PBN Trustee. 17 additional corporations and firms helped support this event. Award presenters were Catherine Schweitzer, Alison Fleischmann and Tom Yots.

Our 2009 Preservation Buffalo Niagara Award Winners:
Old Fort Niagara—reuse of the former Army Commissary Building as a visitor center.
First Baptist Church of Newfane—the skilled restoration of this small, 165-year-old cobblestone.
St. Paul’s Cathedral—long term stewardship of this National Landmark, including the recent completion of stained glass and masonry restoration and total roof reconstruction.
Sweetness 7 Café—rehabilitation of 212–220 Grant St. into the apartments and gallery space and its positive impact on the Grant Street commercial district.
Beverly A. Gray Business Incubator—conversion of the vacant Greek-Revival North Jefferson Public Library building as a space for new businesses
Felician Sisters of St. Francis Provincial House—rehabilitation on Buffalo’s Doat Street which will ensure continued presence of the Felician Sisters in the neighborhood.
Town of Clarence—enacting its first preservation ordinance, which will protect and enhance a vast collection of historic resources.
Western New York Heritage Magazine—ten years of promoting knowledge, interest, and dedication to local history and historic architecture in Western New York.
