National Preservation Conference registrants and the public are invited to learn about how historic preservation is conducted in New York State. This free workshop will be conducted from 10 am to 3 pm on Wednesday October 19 by the staff of the State Historic Preservation Office and the Preservation League of New York State.
Attendees will learn about the basics of designating historic properties, how the state reviews projects affecting historic places and about state and federal tax credit and grant programs.
Pre-registration is recommended but not required. To pre-register, please use this on-line form or call 716 852-3300. Registration that morning will start at 9:30 am. Preservation 101 will be held in the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, 1 Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo. The auditorium entrance is on Clinton Street between Washington and Ellicott.
